Alaska Marine Highway: Ketch(me if)ikan

Happy Halloween everybody! I think for my costume I'll take a shower, comb my hair, and where a polo shirt. NOBODY will recognize me."Who is that clean cut individual?," they'll say. "IT'S ME!" "OH MIKE, great costume! We had no idea what you look like cleaned up," they'll reply in shock.

Anyway. That was a brief example of how I've become increasingly talented in holding conversations with myself. Oh Mike, you're too kind....

To the post...so I hope you followers love America. Because if you don't, you may hate this post. Its full of AMERICA! Its chock full o' pictures of the ship's first stop within the Alaskan Inside Passage. A city called Ketchikan. Our visit was short, only a couple of hours, but the views and memories (particularly of the wildlife) will leave a lasting mark on my mind's tales. You'll see what I mean if you continue to scroll down. It'll be pretty obvious who the star of this post is.

I won't delay any longer with any drawn out blabbering...I'll let the pictures do the talking.

Oh right...please play this music below while viewing these pictures. I think its an appropriate musical selection. Try not to cry. Thanks John Williams...

So I saw pteradactyls...go on...prove me wrong!

The mornings along the Inside Passage...Majestic.

Never let go...

BOOM! Oh hey mountain range!

Reminds me a little of my maritime travels along Isle Royale.

Lets hope I never have to figure out how to get in this thing.

Disney! You're blocking the view!

CALL ME ISHMAEL!

Though far away, this is the biggest creature I've ever seen!

My bed for the next 4-5 days. Yup thats EVERYTHING I brought with me to Alaska. Not including the fire hose.

Even the saltiest of men couldn't pass up this Alaskan view.

Just in case...

Quick! Lets blame them!

I bet Frodo and Sam thought the same thing...

Never in a bazillion years could I capture this again if I tried. Imagine my surprise when I flipped back through my pictures.
